Candles From The Keeping Room - Winter Candle Apple

Don't mind the out-of-focus, blurry shot.
Scent Description: Crispy apple, pineapple, zests of orange, neroli, cinnamon, sandalwood, fresh musk, bamboo, patchouli.

Date Received: February 2016

Weight Melted: 1.0 oz

Location of Warmer: Living room, in tealight warmer.

Cold Sniff: 2/5 Musky note with a hint of generic, crappy Yankee Apple. Not any of Yankee's reformulations or better versions of Apple. Their really old, really plastic-ey apple.

Warm Sniff: 5/5 Ah, there's that delicious Winter Candle Apple we all know and love!

Scent Strength: 1.5/3

Scent Throw: 3/3 This filled the entire living room and just a little bit of the hallway.

Melting Power: 4/5 I got about 6.5 hours of scent from this tart.

Repurchase: Yes!

  1. I have Winter Candy Apple foaming hand soap in the bathroom right now. I think I got it from someone named Liz. =)

Some day I'll need to try and order from CFTKR again. I rarely do it.

    1. It's funny you mention the soap from last year! I spent a chunk of today rereading your entire blog and I smiled when I came across your post about my package. I didn't realize you blogged about UO before we'd even started talking! How crazy to read through and see such familiar pixels and scenery!

If the stars align and you happen to be online when she next opens I'll bug you about her being open. :P

    2. I like to go back and read old posts too. I took a bunch of screenshots during my last biggish UO spurt, thinking it would be fun to stick in posts here and there, and then never really did anything. I logged on yesterday and grabbed my holiday gift on one character. I should log on today and decorate my little house for Christmas.

Even if those stars do align, I'm not familiar enough with the scents. Isn't hers a grab and go type opening, race for life type?

    3. As is typical around this time of year, I'm getting back into UO again. I LOVE running around shards and seeing the holiday deco put to use. I've grown up with UO being a huge part of so many Winter Breaks it's synonymous with the holiday time to me; it's not complete without it!

You are correct... sorta. If you are able to add the item to your cart, it is yours for at least 30 minutes. I can't remember the exact time but it's at least 30 minutes. If you can't add it to your cart then it's already been sold out. Carol typically posts a list of the scents that will be available before the opening so you can peruse her scent descriptions and make your list.

It usually takes about an hour for her to receive 200 orders, which is the maximum amount she's willing to make, and she closes down the website. At that point, if you still have stuff in your cart and wish to check out with it you can.

    4. I used to have screenshots of my house decorated for Christmas back when we were still playing obsessively. I don't know if I have it anymore. When I try to decorate now I get frustrated because I lost so many decorative items during one of my quit phases when I let me house and everything in it drop. Usually when I think I'm going to quit I at least load up all the characters' bank boxes with valuables.

    5. I have so many years worth of decorated house designs saved in my external hard drive. They're awesome little reminders of the fun times I've had in the game.

I totally understand the frustration. The last time I quit I didn't bother putting anything in my bank and I lost a lot. That was about 10 years ago, though, so I've had plenty of time to build my collection back up again.
