JMae's Soaps & Candles - Fresh Fruit Slices

Scent Description: A typical mix of apples, bananas, oranges, and lemons. At least that's what I pick up on here. Mainly an apple-lemon scent with just a hint of everything else.
Weight Melted: 1.8 oz.
Cold Sniff: 3/5 I'm not a big fruit fan
Warm Sniff: 3/5
Scent Strength: 1/3
Scent Throw: 4/5 I was very surprised with this. It filled every room of the apartment except the bedroom.
Melting Power: 2/5 Even with how far the scent spread, it lasted about 5 hours before I turned off the warmer for the day.
Repurchase: No. I didn't care for the scent enough.

JMae Soaps & Candles - Love Spell

I liked the look of these tarts, even though they fell apart en route to my doorstep. This was something I'd bought through one of Jamie's cleaning inventory auctions, amongst many many other things.
Scent Description: This is a dupe of VS Love Spell. If you aren't familiar with that scent, it's a very fruity scent. I sniff this and get lemon-orange-lime madness. If you want something very heavy on the citric acid, this is for you!
Weight Melted: 1.7 oz
Cold Sniff: 2/5 Eh, this was too lemony for me.
Warm Sniff: 2/5 Same thing when melted.
Scent Strength: 2/3
Scent Throw: 3.5/5 This surprised me, considering who this tart came from. I actually didn't take pictures initially, thinking I would just replace this after 10 minutes anyway. Surprise for me! I had to grab the rest of the tarts and form them into this picture here.
Melting Power: 3/5 This lasted for about 7 hours before the scent had died off. Good thing, too! I was getting sick of the scent LOL
Repurchase: Nope, even if this was one of Jamie's better performing tarts. I'm not a fan of Love Spell if it's not blended. I'm even going to toss the rest of the bag. I have no reason to keep it.

JMae's Soaps & Candles - Circus

Scent Description: None available. I liked it enough, but I don't know what was in it and it doesn't fit anything that was in other vendors' 'circus' blends.
Weight Melted: 2.8 oz
Cold Sniff: 4/5 I liked it!
Warm Sniff: 4/5 No changes after this was melted
Scent Strength: 1/3
Scent Throw: 3/5 This filled half of the kitchen and living room. Basically a 5 foot radius around the warmer.
Melting Power: 1/5 This lasted about an hour and a half after fully melting before the scent completely disappeared.
Repurchase: No. Not from Jamie, at least. I really like the blend itself, but the performance was very lackluster. Because of this I searched my stash for other 'circus' blends and came across someone else's different blend.

JMae's Soaps & Candles - Lavender Vanilla

Scent Description: This was supposed to be a pleasant blend of vanilla and lavender. I think anyone who is even remotely into melting wax or burning candles knows what this smells like.
Weight Melted: 4.9 oz. No, I did not make a typo. Yes, you read that right.
Cold Sniff: 2/5 I don't know what I got when I sniffed this cold. It was wax with a hint of something sweet. This less than promising first sniff is what made me decide to just melt the entire thing and see how it went.
Warm Sniff: 2/5 I really don't think this was Lavender Vanilla. It doesn't smell right, at all. There's nothing vanilla like or lavender-esque here. It smells like some light perfume smell you always get when you go into the perfume section of a dollar store.
Scent Strength: 1/3 If I could have smelled whatever it was I smelled more, I would have qualified it as a background scent.
Scent Throw: 1/5 Five ounces of wax did so crappy, I let the entire thing melt, waited five minutes to see if a miracle would happen, and then dumped it.
Melting Power: 0/5 I didn't give it a chance.
Repurchase: No. To be fair to Jamie, I've had this particular tart for a while. However, I've had other tarts for longer than this and they've performed spectacularly. I doubt the time is what made this tart so bad, anyway.

I'm slowly making my way through my stash of hers. While cleaning, I also found the old Fortune Cookie Soap destash that she'd sold to me when it was already a year old. That in itself isn't so bad, as I know FCS can have some long lasting stuff. What got me here was a lot of the stuff had obviously been used or it was stored improperly. When I received it stuff was discolored and misshapen and smelled... off. That stuff along with a lot of her other bath and body products went straight into the trash. Blech.

JMae's Soaps & Candles - Pink Lavender Vanilla

Cold Sniff: 3/5 I like Lavender Vanilla so I  would normally like this, but I can't smell any of the Pink Sugar in here.
Warm Sniff: 2/5 I don't know what I got when this was melted. Vanilla. With a hint of something else that might be Pink Sugar, but it was never strong enough to really identify.
Scent Strength: 1/3
Scent Throw: 2/5 I first had two tarts, then added the other two, and the throw didn't improve any. I didn't have to shove my nose in the wax to smell it, but I couldn't smell it farther than 3 feet from the warmer.
Melting Power: 1/5 It did not last long at all. I gave all four tarts 3 hours before I called it quits.
Repurchase: No. As far as I'm concerned I'm not buying anything from this vendor until I hear anything better about her products. Last time I heard from her she had moved on from bath and body and on to bows or something... I don't know. I made a huge mistake when I first got into wax, and that was spending a lot of money on not only one vendor, but a newer vendor that couldn't decide what kind of products she wanted to sell. I got roped in after buying a destash (that turned out to have items that were over a year old and were disgusting) and at the time was too nice to admit even to myself that her stuff sucked. I'm making myself melt through her stuff just so it's not a complete waste.
Maybe I'm bitter. You would be, too, if you somehow convinced yourself to spend hundreds of dollars on this quality product.

JMae's Soaps & Cancles - Pineapple Orchid

Cold Sniff: 2/3
Warm Sniff: 2/3
Throw: 1.5/3
Melting Power: 1/3 That's being nice, too. This lasted about 2 hours in a radius of about 3 feet. Then it died.
Scent Strength: 1/3 When I could smell this, it was a very background type scent. I don't know how to describe this besides the scent itself was not memorable.
Repurchase: No. While the scent was alright, the performance left a lot to be desired.

JMae's Soaps & Candles - Tinsel

Cold Sniff: 2/3 This was a minty, sweet scent. I can't even describe it, but it was pleasant.
Warm Sniff: 2/3 Please see above!
Throw: 2.5/3 It filled pretty much the entire house minus the very furthest corners of the bathroom.
Melting Power: 3/3 This baby melted forever. I took it out early at about 36 hours because the scent started morphing and becoming even more intense.
Scent Strength: 2.5/3
Repurchase: Probably not, just because this was so weirdly pleasant to my nose. M and I had a coworker over, and he described the scent as (his words, not mine) "Candy and Unicorn Jizz." By this point the scent had bumped itself up in intensity and M and I were choking on it.

JMae's Soaps & Candles - Pink Serendipity Warm Vanilla Sugar

Jeez, what a long post title name thingymajig! In my large February order (which I'm not going to post) I ordered some wax loaves and pies and gave Jamie free reign on the scent blends. This is one of those wax pies... and oh. My. Goodness. Love love love it.
Cold Sniff: 3/3 I almost can't pick up on the Serendipity, but I know it's there. This is one of those blends where almost no individual scent can be picked out, but without those individual scents the final product wouldn't be the same. Now that's good blending. I really really like how Jamie managed to make the vanilla sugar the main note here. You're competing with two very strong scents! Yet she did it!
Warm Sniff: 3/3 Love. I'm a sucker for sweeter scents, and this just tickled my sweet bone to no end.
Throw: 2/3 This filled the living room and most of the kitchen.
Melting Power: 2/3 The slice I took lasted about 9 hours. I wish I'd weighed the piece I cut off to give you an idea of the performance of the piece I cut. This was a small piece, though. About half the size of a standard scalloped tart.
Scent Strength: 1/3 This was a great background scent to clean the house and play video games to.
Repurchase: Yes! I can't wait to share with you some of the other blends Jamie whipped up for me.

JMae's Soaps & Candles - Spearmint

I don't have any notes for this, as we really just melted this to try to wash out the stench of death that had been permeating the house for a couple days. It appears we had a cat die underneath the house and while M did find it and get it properly taken care of (it looked young, too :( ) the smell was hard to overcome and lingered far past when it should have left. So we pulled this out and melted the crap out of it. It's your typical Spearmint and Eucalyptus scent that reminds me of that one Bath and Body Works Aromatherapy product my dad got mom for the holidays my 5th grade year. It lasted long enough that when we finally dumped it out the stink was gone.
Sad reason to use it, but I don't really think I would have melted this particular scent for any reason but to overcome a bad smell.

JMae's Soaps & Candles - Love Spell

Cold Sniff: 1.5/3 This smelled lemony. I've actually never smelled the Victoria's Secret scent that this is a dupe of so I can't tell you if this is a good dupe or not, but I liked it.
Warm Sniff: 2/3 The overpowering lemon smell dropped a bit and the other notes of this scent made their way out. I just couldn't pick out them individually to tell you guys.
Throw: 1.5/3 This filled most of the living area and some of the kitchen.
Melting Power: 2/3 Lasted about 8 hours, and that was drawing out the melt.
Scent Strength: 2/3 The lemon made this a bit more noticeable than without it. Wow, I'm really going on about that lemony note.

Quick Wax Reviews

I cleaned the house yesterday, and it appears that during my cleaning I've misplaced my notecard that had all the notes for these tarts I melted. So, I'm going to have to ditch my new rating system for this post and these tarts. When (if) I melt them again, I'll do a proper review on them.
First off is JMae's Soaps & Candles' Black Raspberry Vanilla. This smells exactly like a sugar scrub I've loved using from an old YouTuber who has now left the world of videos for bigger and better things. This scent is a very background-y scent and pleasant, too! I think it filled my entire living room, but I don't remember exactly. I don't remember how long it lasted, either. *huff* This is why I never clean LOL.

Next is Tara's Candle Cottage's Raspberry Noel Cake. The Noel in this turned the raspberry into one of those almost fake raspberry scents, though not enough so that it was unpleasant. The cake was just a background note in all this to make up for a very delicious smelling cake. I had to bake a cake after melting this, it was so yummy! It filled most of the house and lasted overnight (about 14 hours) if I remember correctly.

Then we have Crabby Candle Co's Vanilla Lavender. I was a bit underwhelmed by this one compared to Tiffany Candles' version. This filled my living room, and barely. The scent was pretty much the same as Tiffany's, but to me it was obvious who had better quality, at least for a hot plate warmer. This lasted maybe 4 hours before retreated to the area immediately surrounding the warmer. However, I should note that I only melted half the tart. It looked so big I was afraid of overwhelming the house with the scent. Maybe I should have put the entire tart in.

Finally, there's The Scented Princess' Fluffy Pink Candy. I like this one because it's an exact dupe of Lush's Candy Mountain bubble bar (which I've now run out of... *sob*). The best thing about this in tart form is it isn't chokingly sweet, which I've experienced issues with in the bubble bar form (how am I supposed to take a relaxing bath when I'm feeling suffocated by the scent!? It's so pretty, but something about it keeps me from being able to breathe until the scent has faded a bit!). This sucker we could smell while walking up to the house. Her tarts are HUGE. I've been contemplating an order for so long now!
Unfortunately, just yesterday Dawn closed down her website so she could catch up on orders. I guess my very first order from her will have to wait (all my TSP products have arrived in destashes).

JMae's Soaps & Candles - Pink Peppermint

Just by looking at the scent description or even the name of the scent, I would never have pegged this as a scent I would like due to my dislike of peppermint. Why, you ask, do I dislike peppermint so? In 2nd grade I decided to eat an entire bag of peppermint flavored candy. Later that night, I developed a flu and proceeded to upchuck every time I moved. That stuff reeked of peppermint. Since then I've associated peppermint with puking and haven't liked the smell nor taste of peppermint candies.
Imagine my surprise when I get a soap that I love from Jamie only to find that it contains a scent that I should by all means avoid! I liked -no, loved- it so much in soap form I decided to risk it in wax form (taking into consideration that there would be differences between the soap and wax smell). Boy am I glad I did. This was a lighter scent, but the throw was awesome! It filled my entire house, though that shouldn't say much because I live in a rear house that's an efficiency unit (hey, don't you diss my home!). However, if it fills my house, I'm happy, and this certainly fits the bill. The two cubes I melted lasted well over 16 hours of solid melting, how cool is that??
Please note me not describing the scent besides awesome. I figure it's an easy enough scent to guess and it's really just an even 50-50 blend of both scents, which I'm impressed with considering there's Pink Sugar in here. Typically PS blends end up being PS with a hint of that other fragrance blended in (Exhibit A: Shayz Scentz' Pink Nog).
In any case, this is most definitely a repurchase!
