Scent Description: "SMT Blend"/A rich, sweet vanilla sugar cookie with a slightly roasted marshmallow background and a hint of caramel/"SMT Blend"
Date Received: December 27, 2016
Weight Melted: 0.8 oz
Location of Warmer: Kitchen, in tealight warmer
Cold Sniff: 5/5 My beloved blueberry noel mixed with a healthy heaping of creamy vanilla.
Warm Sniff: 5/5 I expect vanilla scents to really tone down other scents when I blend them, but the blueberry noel stayed incredibly strong. I'm psyched about that. As for the end result - just a super creamy vanilla version of blueberry noel. Same enough to be blueberry noel, but different enough to warrant its own purchase.
Scent Strength: 2/3
Scent Throw: 3/3 Filled the entire kitchen/dining area, hallway, and office.
Melting Power: 5/5 Half of a pie slice got me 10 hours of scent, and I probably could have pushed for more if I wanted.
Repurchase: Yes! As I stated in the Warm Sniff section, this blend is different enough from SMT's Blueberry Noel blend that I would recommend anyone who is a fan of vanilla and Blueberry Noel give this one a shot. I know I'm going to buy more once this runs out!
That's a cute colorful confection. The hues remind me of our (husband's a teacher) high school colors. Blueberry is hit or miss for me, mostly miss, but I bet the vanilla bean noel pushes this into my scent wheelhouse. I'm getting excited and a little anxious over the next SMT opening bc it will be my first attempt. I'll be noting and borrowing a few combos from friends as well.
ReplyDeleteJulie sent me a chunk recently that totally surprised me in that the note I thought I liked, I didn't and one I thought I wouldnt, I did. Now I'm reevaluating my lists.
Are you planning for the next SMT?
Now that you mention it, I can't help but think of school jerseys whenever I look at the picture. LOL! I didn't think I was a blueberry person until I tried this blend in December of 2015. Now I feel like I can't get enough of it.
DeleteHow exciting that you're going for your first SMT opening! Some of my favorite parts about these openings are the samples. You can really tell that Amy and Donna take your likes into consideration, and if you happen to mention a scent nonchalantly in the group they will hook you up. Just ask Julie about her Dragon's Blood adventure! <3
I'm not planning anything concrete yet, since I don't know any times and dates, but I definitely have some things I would like to pick up. I want to try and go for fresher, musky scents this time around.
I've missed you. That blend sounds scrumptious, I love RG.
ReplyDeleteI've missed blogging! I had a large chunk of time where there wasn't much I could blog about, as I've been working on melting down wax I've already reviewed and I haven't been buying much. It's nice to be back!
DeleteYes!!!! Glad you like it! I need to throw this in my next melting basket for sure. Because I need to start plotting my next SMT custom! I feel like they are really pumping them out <3
ReplyDeleteOoooh please write your thoughts about it when you get around to melting it!
DeleteI've been insanely impressed with SMT's TAT lately. It feels like their last opening was yesterday, why are they talking about their next opening already? XD
That sounds freakin' delicious! And what a cute little pie. I got a piped heart in Blueberry Grunt Cake - it's very yummy, but there's a weird little note there that reminds me of a sleeping bag (no, really!) I'd like to try one of their other blueberries, and this blend sounds pretty delicious.
ReplyDeleteOhhh, it IS delicious! Pity that Blueberry Grunt Cake ended up smelling so weird! I think I know what you mean about a sleeping bag. Those things have a very distinct scent!
DeleteYes this was the blend I saw in Julies basket and was totally drooling over! Blueberry and Noel? You just cant hardly get any better than that. I have been craving blueberry for so long now. I need to get cracking on a list and try for SMT one opening as I've never made an order from them myself. Not so sure how Id do on custom blending scents.
ReplyDeleteIt really is an amazing blend! If you have some room in your SMT order you should get it. :)
DeleteDon't be afraid to dig through lists and other hauls to get some inspiration for your own list! When I first tried my own blends, I modified blends I had already tried and liked. For instance, I noticed that berries/fruits and bakery seemed to go well with my nose, so I started mixing some of those scents together in ways I hadn't tried before.
