L3 Waxy Wonders - Postre de Pera
Scent Description: Caramelized pear custard.
Weight Melted: 1.0 oz
Location of Warmer: Living room, in tealight warmer
Cold Sniff: 2/5 I'm so glad I did not sniff this before throwing it in the warmer, because I would have tossed it. There is a skunky odor in the background that is hard to ignore.
Warm Sniff: 4/5 No skunk once melted! Thank goodness! This was a pleasantly sweet custard scent with a very slight hint of pear.
Scent Strength: 1/3
Scent Throw: 3/3 This filled the entire living room.
Melting Power: 3/5 I got about 5 hours of scent from two cubes.
Repurchase: Probably not. It was nice, but nothing special enough to warrant a purchase of this specific scent. That skunky note also scared me a little. It's probably because of the age (over a year old) but I don't remember too much of how this smelled when I first got it to be certain.

Sounds yummy...maybe. I've gotten so weird about caramel scents lately. But this is not a vendor I order from so I guess it does not matter.

It just clicked where the skunky scent may have come from. Some caramels smell skunky to me... which is why I am very picky about them.
DeleteI still haven't ordered from L3 since my major haul last December. I know her wax performs wonderfully for me, but I always end up passing her up for other vendors.
I'm picky about caramel scents as well. If they're too sweet, I'm out. It sounds nice with pears, kind of fresh. I haven't tried L3's caramel to know if there's a weirdness to it, but skunky doesn't bode well.
ReplyDeleteI've tried Frosted Snow Angels from the Bathing Garden, it has pears and white chocolate and something else I can't remember, verrry sweet, but nice.
I'm just glad that skunk note was gone once melted. That would have turned me away from all caramels for a long time.
DeleteI haven't tried Frosted Snow Angels, but it sounds lovely! If I order before the winter collection is shelved, I'll have to pick one up.
