Ah, the calming blanket of snow. This greeted me as I woke up early Friday morning. M, in typical M fashion, got right to shoveling the driveway.
This was after several hours. At 6 o'clock, the roads were all snow. |
It was past seven when he returned - and that was just because his shovel failed him by breaking.
I had a self esteem boost the other day. I was taking a bath and M decided to sit in the bathroom to keep me company while I soaked in the luxurious, silky warmth of the water and bubbles. When I was done with my bath and got out of the water, he commented on how it looked like I was trimming down and toning up. Since then I've started noticing the changes as well. My quads are the one area of my body right now that are growing instead of shrinking, and I'm completely okay with that.
We've been a bit disgruntled about the snow this weekend. While we love snow, we wanted to go on a total of two bike rides over his three day weekend, but the snow has put a halt to those plans.
Today we met up with one of M's coworkers to have lunch and get to meet their dog that we'll be watching in February. They went to a restaurant about 20 minutes away to buy some delicious curry and we ended up getting to their house before they got back. They told us to go ahead and let ourselves into the house so we could get out of the cold and meet Zelda, the name of the poochie we'll be watching.
I expected her to be at least a little apprehensive about complete strangers coming in her home without her owners being there. Nope!
I was the first person in the door and the first thing I saw was a little ball of furry love come barreling down the room, tail wagging, ready to pounce - for snuggles! For a mental image since I have no pictures (yet), Zelda is a German shepherd/corgi mix. Her owners came home to find her sprawled out in our laps accepting belly rubs with glee.
In their words: Worst guard dog ever. LOL!
This little hang out session was pretty fun. I know M's been trying to get all of us together to hang out for a while now but we've had scheduling issues until now. I baked some chocolate chip cookies and they loved it.
On our walk home, the snow really picked up and M jokingly said that we should take a picture to send to my sister, who would be insanely jealous. I've never been much of a picture person, so when I said yes he was super happy. I'm trying to take more pictures of us, since I have immense regrets about hiding from the camera for the first 18+ years of my life. There's no documentation of me growing up! I can't do "then and now" pictures! I can't even do "then" pictures!
In video game news, I'm still playing and enjoying UO with Dad. He's falling hard for the game again. I hope he doesn't get burned out, because it's fun to have someone to go hunting with again.
I had a fun moment at one of the banks in game. I was putting some stuff in my bank when I saw some familiar text above a character's head: 안녕. Someone was "speaking" Korean! What's more, I was able to sound it out (anyeong) and figure out that the person was saying a colloquial "hello/howdy"! Yippee!
I took a major break from wax reviews for the past two days. Now that I've finally caught up on the wax I melted from December and I'm posting about more current melts than old melts I can go back down to one a day. That was a crazy schedule to keep up, so I'm glad I can relax a little.
I hope everything is going well in your corner of the world!
How cool that you are able to read and understand Korean! I think that is amazing. And kudos to Michael for pointing out how well you are doing physically. That is super sweet. Enjoy your snow! You guys looks so adorable! <3
ReplyDeleteI love that learning Korean has benefited me in a situation I never expected for it to!
DeleteThank you for your kind words! You're always so sweet in your comments. I think my teeth need to be checked for cavities. <3
