Yesterday was a day. Indeed it was. Don't you like when days are days?
We got back shortly after noon, when I decided it was time to snuggle up in my cocoon of warmth on the couch. M made a delicious breakfast (lunch? brunch? insert random mealtime name here) of eggs, turkey bacon, hash browns, and toast. From there he settled in for a nap and I got caught up on the internet.
Recently Amanda over at Thrifty Polished posted about her hubby's hair and beard care and it got me thinking about my own hair. After lamenting the loss of easy to access hair care products, I realized that we had recently bought a ginormous jug of coconut oil.
Tell me I'm pretty. LOL |
If my face looks red, it's because I'm a tomato in disguise and not because exercise turns me into a lobster.
I played around with the blog for several hours while I let the treatment sit in my hair. Toward the end of the treatment I slathered some of Lush's Don't Look At Me face mask on my face. Once I was all cleaned up, the end result was super luxurious curls and a moisturized face. I would call yesterday a "pamper me" kind of day, even with the bike ride.
The rest of my day was spent reading and then watching some YouTube with M.
Today was another day. *insert gasp of surprise*
I woke up fairly early and spent a couple hours talking to my family. I was troubleshooting some stuff with my iPad and let my mom talk to Pebbles. While I was talking with her, I tidied up the house a little even though I told myself I would relax and enjoy the same days off as M without beating my self up over a messy house. Way to go, Liz. You went and cleaned when you told yourself you didn't have to. After a few hours, my family went to sleep and I hopped on the computer
I responded to comments, caught up on reading, and left some comments. I need to get back to leaving more comments. I feel like I'm always behind on commenting. How do you guys keep up with it?!
On Etsy, I left reviews on a lot of items I've been needing to leave reviews on. Unfortunately there was one order that had passed the 60-day time frame for leaving a review. Bummer, as I had a good 25+ items bought that could help the shop boost their score, and I had a lot to write about. There's a bit of a story to that order, which I'll get around to on the blog eventually©.
I also "played" more UO. I got my tailoring up to 108, then decided to switch my efforts over to other skills. After some thought I figured it would be easiest if I worked on my magery next. This involved up macros and letting those macros run, then resetting everything as it ends or at five minute intervals. While that's been going on I've continued cleaning the house and surfing the internet.
Man, my life is boring. LOL!
How has your week been?
Your face is gorgeous, but that cat looks stand-offish😀 Comments~I guess I don't get a ton, but I love responding. It doesn't matter how long after the fact, I'm just a firm believer in responding. If someone takes the time to compose a comment, I can do so to like, respond or reply, it's courteous ya know?
ReplyDeleteSo, I'm losing gamer cred here, but how much do I have anyway? What is UO??
Thank you for your kind words! Pebbles doesn't appear to be a fan of cameras, which sucks because I try to take frequent pictures to send to pet owners when I petsit. She's a very friendly cat, though!
DeleteI'm the same way about comments. I feel bad when I don't respond so I try to respond at some point, just to let the commenter know I see and appreciate what they have to say.
UO is Ultima Online. It's an MMORPG (massively multiplayer online role playing game) that released in September of 1997. At its release, it became the fastest growing MMORPG of the time, reaching over 100,000 subscribers within a year and garnering the attention of many video game companies. It's constantly recited as one of the first MMORPGS - an easy feat, of course, when the game's creator was the man to coin the term. UO is also credited with popularizing the MMO genre.
*cough* I like video games, and this is one that I've played for 60% of my life. I love it. Can't you tell?
Thanks for 'splaining for me:) I wonder if I know anyone else who plays?
DeleteDeb from It's Always Something happens to play as well!
DeleteIn my experience, there are quite a few people who've played UO some point in their life. Maybe it's because my life path is similar to others who've tried the game and as a result I come in close contact with them? In any case, I've met many people of all ages who played.
Yep, I play! Oh my gosh, the amount of hours hubby and I put into that game back around 2000-04 or so....total obsession. And I absolutely miss those days.

Kitty!! Oh, I want to pet her. Her colors look so interesting.
ReplyDeleteAnd UO!! I want to play, I want to play, I want to play....but just never do. *sigh* And I never got into all those macros where you can just let the game do its thing. I'm one who actually sits there and does the work. Probably why I never excelled in the game but oh well, it's me in real life too. lol
~Deb
She is such a lovebug. I was feeling down the other day while cleaning and it felt like every time my thoughts got particularly dark, she would rub against me and start meowing really loudly until I snuggled her.
DeleteI think I've stolen all of the UO hours from you. I feel like playing UO is all I've done all week. I was surprised at how many macros I could set up with UOAssist and without turning to other "illegal" scripting programs.
As for macros themselves, I've used them for my entire UO career. I adopted a lot of the same macros my Dad used (F1 for tame, F6 for cast greater heal, alt+F for "all follow me," and so much more). Whenever I switch to a new computer or my macros reset I can always replace them without a second thought. It's weird when I think about how much easier my gameplay is when I have those macros programmed into the game as well as my fingers.
Oh yeah, I do the easy one like that. Alt+b = Say bank, and easy common ones like that. The more complex things, like with UOAssist, I never learned. Wasn't there something in there to automatically gather all regs you came across? And what was it people did to set up circuits of mining?
Delete~Deb
I think there was something to auto-gather nearby regs in UOAssist. I believe I tried it but it wasn't so much 'auto' as 'press a button and we will try to pick up a random reg within reach.'
DeletePeople would use scripting programs that would play their characters for them. It's how people would train up skills and gather hoards of resources (setting up their mining circuits) while not paying attention to their game. Now the big argument against scripting programs is people have found ways to use that to log in on several accounts and pick up things at the same time, which becomes a problem at IDOCs when you have one person with 47 accounts and a script that targets specific items and picks them up.
Scripting! Yes! I could not think of the word for it! There were times when I was out mining and a GM would show up, casually stroll about the place, ask me some "How's it going?" type questions. I was told by a gamefriend at the time that they were making sure I was really there playing.
DeleteI think they changed mining so the same ore wasn't always in the same spot, didn't they? Because of scripters?
~Deb
Aah, yes. Back when they actually did something about scripters. I had the same stuff happen to me when I would go out and mine or chop trees.
DeleteYes, they changed mining and lumberjacking so the ores/woods are random to combat scripting. Issue is, it instead backfired and now honest players don't want to mine or chop trees anymore. Meanwhile, the same scripters are running their programs and still getting the rarer resources, albeit at a reduced rate.
What a sweet kitty! She looks like a tortie like Tod. YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL!! I think my curls could use a little more TLC. I have tried the pasta water rinse but not coconut oil. Though I have neglected my hair I definitely have not neglected my face. Sheet mask nirvana over here.
ReplyDeleteI realized I had been neglecting my hair in favor of my face and mentally chastised myself. I can work both into my normal routine!
DeleteI should take a picture of my sheet masks. I have so many... LOL
