Haul: Rosegirls February 2016
February 14th saw the first of Rosegirls' new opening style. Instead of the ability to buy custom chunks Jenny chooses 15 blends that you can buy in as many 8oz bags as you please. I figured why not let my return to Rosegirls be the first opening of this sort?
I placed my order on February 14th and it shipped on April 14th. Within the initial TAT Jenny quoted us. How fantastic is that, especially after how long the TAT was for their last customs.
How about we jump in and see what I got? I sure didn't remember as I was opening the box, and I'm pretty happy with what 2-month-younger-me picked out!
So many chunks! Each bag was $10.
Cheers!: Blue raspberry slushie, lemonade, and koolaid.
Oh man, this is a sweet, summery drink blend perfect for a pool/beach day. It makes me think of a Starburst! 8.0 oz
Wild Heart: Gardenia, soft vanilla, Spring Renewal (fresh floral, fruits).
Oh man. A soft floral with just a hint of vanilla. I'm a big fan of soft gardenia blends. Not overpowering on the floral, but just nice enough to bring to mind fresh air and Spring bloom. 8.1 oz
Kiwi Cucumber Splash: Juicy kiwi, fresh cucumber.
Such a fresh scent! I was surprised to think 'clean' when sniffing at this. I would have thought it would be more fruity. Maybe my brain is stuck on cleaning. I feel like I've been doing that a lot lately. The kiwi here does not have its typical tartness. 8.2 oz
Hotline Bling: Lemon biscotti, cotton candy frosting, raspberry sauce, watermelon slush.
I only smell the lemon biscotti and a hint of cotton candy frosting on cold sniff. This one will have to wait and bloom when I melt it. 8.0 oz
Crazy Pants Fluff Puffs: Strawberry jam, green apple, monster cookie (brown sugar, sweet & creamy butter, Madagascar vanilla), marshmallow smoothie.
Sweet strawberry jam and a hint of apples mixed among cookie crumbs, then drizzled in icing. A sweet & bakery blend. I see why monster cookie is such a popular scent of RGs. 8.2 oz
Hello, Gorgeous: Bergamot, peppermint, pink sugar, sweet lavender.
Strong peppermint & lavender. There's just a slight hint of bergamot on the exhale. I'm very anxious to see how this smells when melted. 8.9 oz. Yes, you read that right.
Wildberry Cheesecake Rolls: Wildberries, blueberries, cheesecake, sugar cookie dough.
Cheesecake with a hint of berries. The most authentic cheesecake scent I have smelled yet. Now to see if the rest of the notes shine while this is melted! 8.1 oz
Time for the price breakdown!
Total Before Shipping: $70.00
Total After Shipping: $80.66
Total Wax Received: 57.5 oz
Price/Ounce without shipping: $1.22/oz
Price/Ounce with shipping: $1.40/oz
This is in the same ballpark as how much I paid for my Lasting Scent Candles wax. I have a history with RG, however, and I already know their wax works for me.
I like that RG has switched to PP bags, as they last longer than the bakery bags they used to use. I don't know about you but I spend a lot of time reopening and sniffing all of my wax. My poor bakery bagged wax would fall apart before I fully melt its contents, then the wax wouldn't be properly stored and it would lost all its scent... and then hysterical tears as I realize the horrible mistake I've made.
Okay, maybe not that dramatic, but you get my point.
I would have to say my absolute favorite out of this bunch is Wild Heart, but I loved a lot of these scents. My least favorite would have to be Hotline Bling, just because I can't smell everything that I know is in here on cold sniff. Time to let these sit for a while before I pull them out and melt.
Which of these scents catch your eye? Did you partake in Rosegirls' recent April chunk opening?

I only got Black Cherry Custard, and Coconut Caramel Pears from the February sale. I haven't melted them yet but they do smell delish on cold sniff! I skipped the April opening, but yesterday received my mini melters order from March. I'll have a haul post going up tomorrow, hopefully. =)

I loved your haul post! <3
DeleteI was intrigued about the Coconut Caramel Pears blend but I haven't had the best luck with pear scents. Please tell me how it smells & performs once you melt it.
Nice order Liz! You covered all the scent categories well! Hello, Gorgeous and Wild Heart are amazing. Hotline Bling would definitely be my least favorite because Lemon Biscotti and I do not get along. I melted it in a MM once and said "nope." Did you order from the April opening? She had a ton of great scents for that one. Have you converted any of your Korean friends into wax tarts yet?
ReplyDeleteLiz has the power to turn people into wax?! Liz! All that video gaming has paid off! =P

LOL I have NOT turned any of my friends into wax tarts, nor have I been able to convert them to melting wax vs. burning cheapo candles. The ones I hang out with spend very little time at home, so it doesn't matter much to them.
DeleteThanks! I tried to get a variety of scent types. I'm glad I tried Hotline Bling because I'm wary of Lemon Biscotti as well. It seems to smell fine here, so I'm hoping it'll stay fine while I melt the tart.
Lol!!! Me and my typos. At least it can provide some slapstick. :-)
